What are the requirements for becoming an MHIS HIM employee?
Facility HIM Positions:
MHIS Facility coding HIM professionals must have current RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS credentials, and three or more years of acute hospital coding experience (100+ beds). Multi-system and encoder experience in one or all of the following: SMS, Meditech, McKesson, EPIC, 3M, HSS, and QuadraMed Quantim. Experience coding and abstracting for all or one of the following: inpatient, same day surgery, observation, emergency room, and outpatient records. Pro-Fee HIM Positions:
MHIS Pro-Fee coding HIM professionals must have current RHIA, RHIT, CCS-P and or CPC credentials, and three or more years of multi-specialty professional coding experience. Candidates with system and encoder experience in one or all of the following are preferred: EPIC, 3M, QuadraMed Quantim, and CodeCorrect. Experience coding and abstracting for all or one of the following professional settings: inpatient, same day surgery, emergency room, and multi-specialty outpatient visits.
