Maxim Health Information Services is seeking a Revenue Management Auditing Supervisor for an ongoing position in Boston, MA. This position is a travel position and has an immediate start date.
Responsibilities: Responsible for the general supervision of daily operational functions for staff within the Revenue Management Department (RMD). Responsible for general supervision of direct report employees, which includes scheduling, prioritizing workflow, evaluating performance, and staff development.
Additional Responsibilities: Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the department’s Clinical Charge Audit and Code-Based Reimbursement divisions.
CHARGE AUDIT PROGRAM Develop effective strategies to: -Improve resource consumption charging and documentation accuracy at each facility -Reduce or eliminate incentives for audits by insurance companies -Effectively address Business Office and General Counsel audit requests -Effectively address patient concerns and complaints regarding charges and services -Document net revenue increases and savings from all audit results -Serve as a liaison between the Corporate Business Office, Facility payers and customers
CODE BASED REIMBURSEMENT Develop effective strategies to: -Identify systemic fractures within the current HCPCS Level II assignment -Educate and train ancillary departments about revenue code, HCPCS Level II code, and charge assignment -Identify accurate reimbursement related to government payers -Create, implement, and maintain special projects within the RMD
1.Direct and supervise assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Make recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Address grievances and other personnel problems within position responsibilities. Provide effective direction, guidance, and leadership over the staff for effective teamwork and motivation. 2.Assist with managing the department’s budget. Coordinate the assignment of tasks, efficiently using available resources. 3.Identify and recommend changes within the division in adherence with protocols in order to maximize reimbursement and minimize denials/uncollectibles 4.Organize and prioritize responsibilities to complete work assignments 5.Responsible for working knowledge of State and Federal Laws and/or regulations impacting department workflow 6.Responsible for working knowledge of SMS operating system as it relates to the department 7.Report on a regular basis to the Manager of Revenue Management on the development of employees, or any areas of concern regarding performance 8.Effectively communicate the goals of the division on a routine basis 9.Maintain and update all training materials used by the division 10.Participate in the training process of new and current employees within the division 11.Assist the manager by coordinating the work of an assigned group of employees. Relay work instructions and distribute and monitor work. Provide technical training and assistance. Assist in ensuring employees are provided with appropriate resources. Provide recommendations for the most efficient utilization of assigned personnel. May provide employee performance information and report employee performance problems. 12.Maintain collaborative team relationships with peers and colleagues in order to effectively contribute to the working group’s achievement of goals, and to help foster a positive work environment. 13.Perform other similar and related duties as necessary
