Qualified On-Site Medical Records Coder job candidates possess an essential knowledge of both the medical and business sides of healthcare. Candidates must also have a thorough understanding of the content of the medical record as well as clinical knowledge, including extensive training in anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and clinical disease process.
Job duties of an On-Site Medical Records Coder may include:
• Assigning codes to diagnosis and procedures in order to ensure proper financial reimbursement from insurance companies and government agencies.
• Availability to work from an on-site location within a medical facility.
